Sage, Gold & Blush Tipi Wedding and Church Ceremony in Leicestershire, Bridge House Barn

Elly & Callum celebrated their big day at Leicestershire Tipi venue Bridge House Barn, which was filled with beautiful blooms from No 10 Flowers (who also happens to be the Bride's talented Mum!) The day started with a gorgeous Church Ceremony held at St Nicholas Church in Little Bowden, then it was back to Bridge House Barn to celebrate - and this lot definitely knew how to do that!!

"Our son Raffy is still going on about Grace with her camera now haha. Can't thankyou enough"

How would you describe your wedding? The fastest day of my life! Absolutely wonderful carnage haha!

It was such a happy day surrounded by so much love and we felt super grateful to have everyone we wanted there. It was such a party atmosphere once the music got going which is exactly what we thought and hoped the evening would be like. The venue and food was everything we wanted and it was so nice to look around the room at so many people truly enjoying themselves and everyones company.

Tell us all about your dress My dress was by Essence of Australia and I found it in Dress me Pretty in Hinckley. I loved the boho relaxed skirt and felt it suited the more informal outdoorsy tipi wedding, with a touch of sparkle in the body and on my veil.

What accessories and shoes did you wear? My shoes were just a simple strappy heel from asos (nothing expensive haha!)

I wore my mums diamond earrings that she wore for her wedding as my something borrowed and she bought me a matching necklace as my something new!

I had a lucky sixpence stuck to the bottom of my shoe which was borrowed from my mums friend. She said she had lent it to many brides in the past (and none of which had divorced yet haha!)

I had a blue beaded horseshoe tied to my wedding bouquet that my mum had done that was my 'something blue'.

What about your bridal party?

The girls dresses and all the mens accessories were from Jacqueline Louise Bridal in Stratford-upon-Avon.

My little flower girl had a gorgeous handmade tutu skirt to match the girls also from Jacqueline Louise Bridal.

If you could go back in time and do it all over again, would you change anything?

More time, I feel like I tried to speak to everyone but it just went so so fast so probably have the ceremony earlier and finish the party later!

What advice or tips would you share with others who are planning their big day? Don't stress the small things. I had a few things that hadn't arrived in time (bloody postal strikes) but it was only me that knew about them anyway.

Definitely utilise any talented family members of friends - the venue looked better than I even could have imagined and that was because my mum, bridesmaid and sister in law designed it so perfectly for us! It was definitely more personal having them do it rather than sourcing externally!

Tell us about your Venue It was super relaxed compared to other venues we had seen and we could have exactly what we wanted. It seemed to suit us perfectly for the style of wedding we had both imagined. It was so nice to be close to home as well meaning we could have everyone we wanted there. What was the theme of your wedding? A relaxed countryside tipi wedding, right by the canal in Leicestershire.

We chose greens and white for our colour theme, all designed by my very creative and talented mum which complimented the bridesmaid dresses perfectly. All the wedding stationary was a joint effort by my sister in law Lucy and bridesmaid Ella, I loved how personalised it could all be and trusted them entirely to make it perfect.

Did anything come up during the planning stage that you hadn't anticipated? I think I had thought of most things so no surprises really. The cost is always a big one, I think everyone tells you to make a budget but its so hard to know how much things are if you haven't done it before.

What was your favourite photograph from your big day and why? The one under the tree of the 3 of us, just about the only photo that Raffy wanted to be in and you managed to capture him laughing and smiling perfectly!

What was your most vivid memory from the day?

Sitting down at the table before the food and seeing the 100 faces of everyone we loved smiling back at us!

Did you have any surprises on your wedding day?

My dad! He is a man of very few words or emotion usually and has been dreading the day he had to do a speech since I was born! I think he shocked everyone at how well he spoke and how smiley he was haha.

Were there any funny moments or comedy errors on the day? Alex the DJ pretty much all day was hilarious, reading the room very well and playing intro music for each of the speeches was very funny! The speeches were great and everyone said how natural they were.

Callum having food poisoning the morning of the wedding and making a miraculous comeback is funny to look back on now, I think the groomsmen were all very concerned at the time though!

And lastly... What did you think about Grace and your wedding photographs? Would you recommend Grace Nicole Photography to a friend?

You fitted in so perfectly in the morning with the girls, it was just like having another friend there getting ready and chatting and definitely made me feel calm and comfortable. You were incredible with the little ones and Raffy adored you! Thankyou for being so patient with them all day even when they weren't cooperating and smearing their sticky fingers all over your camera and capturing their little smiles. All of my family and friends have been so impressed by the photos and said you captured the happiness and informality of the day perfectly. I loved that we could get to know you and meet you beforehand, that definitely helped me be more chilled on the day rather that meeting a stranger. Raffy is still going on about Grace with her camera now haha. Can't thankyou enough
