One year on.. and after having so many recent bookings at Dodford Manor I had to share Kim & Matt's beautiful wedding day from last year!
Dodford Manor is a stunning barn venue in Northamptonshire, surrounded by the most beautiful views .. and there are sheep too!!
I asked Kim & Matt some questions about their big day, so have a little scroll to see more of their gorgeous photographs, find out what went into planning and maybe get some inspo along the way too!
It was the most perfect, chilled day we could have asked for. We couldn't have wished for better!
Tell us all about your dress My wedding dress was the Allanah dress number 1175 by Martina Liana and was bought from the incredible Dress Me Pretty Bridal Room. This was the first dress I'd tried on and loved it. It was so comfortable yet figure hugging and gave me such a beautiful shape. The lace detailing on the gown was stunning.
What accessories and shoes did you wear? I had jewellery & hair accessories from Queenie & Lily a little instagram business down south. They create some really stunning pieces. My shoes were from Boohoo with bows from Etsy that my mum made for me to be similar to Charlotte Mills ones. They were so comfy and I loved them!
Tell us about your Venue As soon as Matt & I saw Dodford Manor we knew it was our venue. It has a beautiful long driveway driving through fields of sheep, the grounds are beautifully kept & the venue itself is stunning. The staff were incredible from the minute we met them. We always knew we wanted a barn style venue as we wanted a more relaxed laid back feel and it was perfect for us.
What was the theme of your wedding? Rustic barn style was our theme for the day. We had dusty pink and grey as our main colours, we decorated the aisle with lots of bottle with lights, flower petals & a huge floral hoop where we said our "I Do's".
What is your most vivid memory from the day? Looking at all of our guests in the ceremony room whilst we were signing the register. It was such a lovely moment seeing everyone we cared about all in one room & everyone feeling so happy for us. I couldn't be happier at that moment it was so special.
What was your favourite photograph from your big day and why? I have two favourites - and believe me it was hard enough to get it down to two! One is our first kiss, I just love how happy we both look and that you can see all the detail in my beautiful dress. The other is the first picture we had as a married couple holding our little girl Aubree - its such a beautiful family photo and I'll treasure it forever.
Did you have any surprises on your wedding day?
Our best man surprised us with 40 Strawberry Daquiris as part of a running joke between him, my partner & I. It was such a laugh & Matt was definitely shocked thinking he was going to have to drink them all.
I've recommended Grace to everyone I know who's getting married or recently engaged. I tell everyone she is incredible at what she does and such a lovely person you feel so relaxed around her! Her style of photography is so unique and beautifully presented, you won't be disappointed!
What advice or tips would you share with others who are planning their big day?
Have a spreadsheet with your budget and things to do this helps massively with the planning but above all - enjoy it! The day goes by so quickly that it's not worth stressing over - especially if things go wrong on the day. Most things can be sorted and chances are no one else will know a thing!
